Eric Sloane worked for the US Military illustrating journals and diagrams for the Air Force in WWII. He then became obsessed with tools and techniques used during the Colonial times in America. He began writing books on the subject, and illustrating them. He also has a museum that features his study and his collection in Connecticut. It's definitely an interested place to check out if you are interested in woodworking and/or history.
